News from the “The World Hepatitis Alliance”:
Did you know? The global pandemic led governments around the world to de-prioritise their hepatitis response as they attempted to protect their populations from COVID-19. Yet, with one person dying every 30 seconds from hepatitis, hepatitis can’t wait.
It’s time to get the world back on track for hepatitis elimination by 2030, in accordance with World Health Organization targets.
Our WorldHepatitisSummit, 7-10 June 2022, will bring together key global changemakers to make the elimination of hepatitis a reality. Sessions will explore maximising opportunities the Covid-19 pandemic has created, preventing mother to child transmission, fighting stigma and discrimination, addressing health inequality in hepatitis care – and much else!
Over the four days, we’ll hear from experts at some of the most influential organisations in the world, including World Health Organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) UNICEF Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) The Hepatitis C Trust Hepatitis B Foundation University of Sydney World Medical Association International Association of Providers of AIDS Care – and many more.
